Blue Tide's Next Steps

• Project USA

We propose an annual drive across the US during the month of August. Routes will vary each year but each trip will include 4 to 6 stops at schools along the way to help get them prepared for the school year.

Efforts will include simple structural improvements: installing fans, paint and sprucing up classrooms, supplying books, pens, paper, etc.

• Project India

Our efforts will be similar to those in Africa by expanding access to education and to help by improving schools. And, as in Cambodia, we will delve into the problem of exploited child labor and child trafficking.

We expect to see other areas in which help is needed. Though our focus remains with children and education, we will improve other areas as we are able, whether through a bigger Blue Tide presence, through our corporate sponsors or in partnership with other non-profit organizations.

Scholarships

Our vision entails providing scholarships to students who require financial assistance to attend all possible routes of their academic career:

• Community colleges
• College & Universities
• Semester At Sea Program thru University of Virginia
• Trade schools

By providing annual scholarships to all four types of educational institutions, we create the blueprint for an educational ladder. This ladder will provide the opportunity for our recipients to choose their own level to which they aspire.

Steps include:

• Adding the ability and infrastructure to grant scholarships to our current 501(c)(3) status
• Forming a committee who will meet annually to select the recipients
• Ensuring the selection process represents the diverse population throughout California and the US
• Securing adequate annual funding to provide for the longevity of this program, including support and participation from local and national universities.
